The GeForce RTX 5070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT both closed in on $850 in our US tracking this week, each within a few dollars of the highest price either card has shown in our 90-day window. Neither move is a single-listing blip: both show up across three or four separately tracked sources, and both climbed gradually over the past two weeks rather than jumping in a single day. All prices below are US retail, tax-excluded medians unless a region is named.
GeForce RTX 5070: Pushing Toward $850
NVIDIA's RTX 5070 last sold for $849 at B&H Photo, matching the $849.99 ceiling of its own 90-day range and up from the high $790s and low $800s it held through most of August. The climb has been steady rather than a single spike: the daily tracked median moved from $799.99 in late August to $839.99 by mid-September, a change of about 4 percent over the past two weeks across 41 qualifying observations and three tracked sources. That puts the card 55 percent above its $549 launch MSRP, a gap that's been standing since summer but is now wider than at any point we've tracked.
Radeon RX 9070 XT: Close Behind
AMD's RX 9070 XT tells a similar story. Its latest tracked US price is $849.99, about $20 short of the $869.99 high in its 90-day window and up from the low $730s in late August, a climb of roughly 4 percent over the past two weeks across 33 observations and four sources. That puts the card 42 percent above its $599 launch MSRP.
Germany's tracked listings for the same card moved in the same direction over the same stretch, from around €730 in mid-August into the upper €700s by mid-September. That regional lane currently runs on only two tracked sources, so it's a secondary read rather than a confirmed European trend, but the direction lines up with what the US data shows.
The Rest of the Stack Barely Moved
Everything else we track in the GPU stack stayed close to where it was two weeks ago. The RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5060, and the non-XT RX 9070 each moved under 3 percent either way over the same stretch. Whatever is pushing the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT up isn't, at least not yet, a stack-wide move.
