ASUS describes its 720Hz Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace as the fastest OLED monitor ever

ASUS says the Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace runs a 1920 x 1080 panel at 720Hz over DisplayPort 2.1, with a 540Hz Strix on the same panel. It gives no price or ship date.

ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced two 24.5-inch 1920 x 1080 esports monitors built on the same tandem WOLED panel: the Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace at 720Hz and the Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace at 540Hz. In its announcement, ASUS calls the 720Hz model the fastest OLED monitor ever and the official monitor of PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, the first Counter-Strike Major played on OLED.

Both monitors share a 1700-nit tandem panel with 0.02ms response; their video inputs are what differ

ASUS says the panel stacks two light-emitting layers to deliver up to 31% higher brightness, 34% larger color volume and up to 63% longer lifespan than a conventional WOLED. It lists 1700 cd/m² peak HDR brightness, 99.5% DCI-P3, true 10-bit color and a 0.02ms gray-to-gray response for both models, with a three-year warranty that covers OLED burn-in.

The difference sits in the inputs. The Swift has one DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 port, which ASUS says provides 80Gbps, enough for 720Hz, plus a Position Sensor that shows tilt, height and distance on screen. The Strix lists one DisplayPort 1.4 port with DSC, the compression that squeezes a high refresh rate through a slower link, and has no Position Sensor. Both have two HDMI 2.1 ports rated at 48Gbps.

ASUS gives no price, ship date or regions, and cites no independent measurement

ASUS gives no price, no shipping date and no list of regions for either model. Every specification above is ASUS’s own, and the announcement cites no independent measurement of response time or brightness.
