Lenovo prices its Googlebook about $200 above Acer’s cheapest model

Lenovo's Googlebook 15 starts at $1,099.99 when it goes on sale October 4. It puts Acer's base chip in a bigger 15.3-inch body, at about $200 more than Acer's cheapest model.

According to Lenovo, the Googlebook 15 is its first laptop running Google's Googlebook OS, and it starts at $1,099.99 when it goes on sale in the US on October 4.

The Googlebook 15 runs an Intel Core Ultra 5 325, the same base processor Acer offers on its cheaper Googlebook 14, paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512GB of SSD storage. Acer's Googlebook 14 tops out at the same 32GB and 512GB, but starts at $899 and offers the option of a faster Core Ultra 7 355.

Lenovo's display is a 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen at 120Hz with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and 500 nits, in a 1.29kg chassis under 15.9mm thick. A 70Wh battery is rated for 12.5-plus hours, well short of the 16 hours Acer claims for its smaller screen; Acer's release names its test workload (web browsing) while Lenovo's does not.

What the release leaves out

Lenovo does not say what a $1,099.99 buyer actually gets: whether that price includes the 32GB/512GB configuration or the 16GB/256GB floor the spec sheet also lists. It does not offer a higher-tier Core Ultra 7 option the way Acer does, and it gives no international pricing or availability beyond the US date. As with Acer's launch, the "up to 47 TOPS" NPU figure and the battery estimate are Lenovo's own numbers, not independent measurements.

The software features

The laptop carries the same Googlebook OS pitch as Acer's: Gemini Intelligence surfaced through a wiggle-activated Magic Pointer, Android device sync, and 12 months of Google AI Pro. Lenovo adds a dictation feature it calls Rambler, which it says strips filler words and reformats speech into text as the user talks, including mid-sentence language switches.
